Beginnings

We've been meaning to create this blog for a while and now that it has finally came into being, many of the things that we wished to start with, now seem so long ago.

It's hard to believe that we've been married for nine months already. That's almost a year! At times, it feels like it's already been decades because things become familar and routine but then again there is still that 'new' feeling when something different comes up that we haven't been through together before.

We've settled in very well to our new life here and have a good working routine. We've been blessed by having work and things to do so we keep quite busy.

David is still working as a Promac technician under Banana Computer (fixing Apple products that do actually go wrong). He's busy and at peak times he stresses over the work load but there is a new guy starting now who should relieve things slightly.

As soon as we got here and settled in to our new home, I was almost immediately teaching private classes of English to people either from church or from random connections. I hadn't expected to find the huge amount of work for English teachers here but it turns out, everyone wants to learn English and who better to learn it from but from a native speaker? A friend of David's family recommended that I hand my CV into Mayco, School of English in La Laguna and I started working there in October while still continuing some of my private classes in the mornings. God has provided so much for us and I can only thank Him for all that we have.

Many of you folks at home try to keep up to date with us through Mum and Dad and friends at home and it's lovely to hear that we're still on your minds! We miss catching up with all of you and this is also one of the reasons why we wanted to create a blog. Those of you who are more technically 'savvy' can follow updates and contact and contribute here which we are looking forward to seeing!

For now, this is a small beginning and we're looking forward to sharing other details of our lives with you all in the hope that God blesses this as a way of communicating together. We want to start new things and begin new ventures and we would love it if you could join us.

Next post soon!

Love, Rebecca and David
